There’s never the perfect time to set up your own business, however Helen Adams was really thrown into the deep end when she was made redundant after working with an accounts firm for over 20 years. Reacting to the huge shift in the jobs market, Helen got herself new skills in Excel, SAGE and payroll protocol. However, even with her new skills Helen had a young family and a traditional 9-to-5 wasn’t able to provide Helen with the flexibility she needed. She began to look into starting her own accountancy business, HRA Accounting, and began working for herself from her kitchen table!

Three years down the line, Helen had grown her client base to the point where she was working full time and was taking on part-time trainees, it was at this point, that Helen realised she needed something more professional than working from home. She met the team at The Business Centre (Cardiff) and immediately signed up to a 3-man office on a rolling monthly contract, offering her and her part-time employee the perfect, flexible solution and a professional space to work and network!

As Helen grew, she also needed a professional self-storage solution as she has collected so many confidential documents and archives over the years that were taking up so much space in the office.
