Insurance FAQ’s

Are self-storage units insured?

No, all customers must either take out our Insurance Cover or provide proof of their own Insurance cover.

Is insurance required for self-storage?

We highly recommend all customers either take out our Insurance Cover or provide proof of Insurance Cover for their own goods before they store with us. If using your own Insurance Provider, you will need to instruct them to amend your policy to include the name and address of Masons Self Storage.

Do I have to take out Masons Self Storage insurance?

We highly recommend that you do, however, you also have an option to take out your own insurance. It is important that the policy covers goods that are being placed in self-storage. You will need to check the terms of your insurance as not all household insurances cover you whilst your belongings are in a self-storage facility.

How much is self-storage insurance?

Your Insurance Cover will depend on the cost of the full replacement value of your goods as of today’s prices as being brand new. Our Insurance premiums start from £1.12 per £1,000 value per month including IPT (Insurance Premium Tax) at 10.5%.

What does my insurance cover?

Masons Self Storage insurance covers you for theft, fire or flood damage.
