Zokit Business Awards – Finalist

We are very excited to have been nominated as a finalist in the 2017 Zokit Business Awards in the Innovative Dynamo category! Here at Masons Self Storage, we work hard to ensure that we are consistently at the forefront of our industry and providing our customers with an easy and unforgettable self storage experience.

At our heart, we are still a family run company thriving on the strength of our tight-knit team and our passion to provide the absolute best for our customers. In 2016, we celebrated 25 years since opening one of Wales first ever self storage facilities, however, did you know that the Masons Group have been creating innovative ways to react to our customers needs for over a century.

In the late 1950’s, Eric Mason, started renting out corrugated garages and by 1991, Masons had expanded by purchasing a 2^nd acre of land on the Priority Enterprise Park trading estate. Gordon Mason, Managing Director, stumbled across the concept of self-storage which was popular in America, but was a virtually unknown commodity in the UK. Gordon Mason and his fellow directors, Brett & Richard Mason, seized the opportunity and added the self-storage concept and named the new business: The Welsh Self Storage Centre. In 1994 the company joined the Self Storage Association (SSA), a new association for self-storage operators, with a membership of only 6 other operators!

Being at the forefront of an industry that is thriving, we feel it is important to ensure that you are always providing your customers with a competitive and professional service. Which is why in 2015, Gordon Mason, once again undertook in-depth analysis into the group and said “If we were going to make a positive difference and keep moving forward, we needed to push the boundaries to meet our customer’s needs, we need to work smarter, differently and embrace the advances in new digital technology to answer the changing needs of our customers”.

The explosion of the internet changed the landscape for a small business, it is now more important than ever to be competitive which encourages businesses to be more innovative. Which is why we were proud to unveil our new state-of-the-art facility that utilises technology to make our customers experience even smoother. For example, accessing a storage facility without hiring a van can become a hassle, however, our mobile storage options brings storage right to our customer’s door. Our computerised systems mean that it’s even easier for our customers to access their unit 24/7. Plus, the installation of our brand new ESCORTA lifts make the journey from the car park to a unit seamless. These are just some of the ways we have stepped outside of the box to make our customer’s experience with us that much easier.

We are so excited to have been nominated as a finalist in the 2017 Zokit Business Awards, because we like to constantly review our efforts to ensure that we are being the very best that we can be and it feels amazing to have that recognised by the Zokit team!
