5 Tips for Maximising your Garden Storage in time for Spring!

Posted on: Mon Mar 11

We’ve been on a bit of a rollercoaster with the weather over the last month but it’s finally starting to feel a little warmer, the days are starting to last a little longer and the daffodils are starting to bloom. This can only mean one thing: spring is on its way!

This is the perfect time to get out into the garden and start preparing for summer. However, not all of us have access to large gardens and storage can become an issue, meaning that we then avoid working in the garden as we don’t have the space for tools etc. This year will be different! Below you can find our five creative tips for maximising garden storage even in small gardens this spring!

5 Tips for Maximising Your Garden Storage:

  1. A garden shed

Of course, not everyone has enough space in their gardens for a garden shed, but if you do, this is an easy way to house all of your garden tools and keep them dry and safe. They come in a wide range of sizes and suitable for a variety of budgets. organised garden tools

  1. Functional Furniture

For smaller gardens that are lacking in space, multifunctional items are the way forward! We suggest investing in a garden storage bench. Not only do they provide a great place for stowing away your garden tools and any outdoor soft furnishings but add some cushions and you’ve also got a bench! Perfect for additional space for guests to sit when hosting BBQs in the garden!

Plus, when it rains, you can just pop everything inside the bench to keep it safe and dry!

  1. Re-use and Upcycle

Garden tools have a way of ending up in a jumbled mess on the floor of your shed or in the corner of your garden. To save your tools from this, why not repurpose an old wooden pallet and transform it into the perfect space saving storage solution?

Pallets are a particularly great storage solution for your garden equipment with long handles. For a tool-free solution, stand the pallet upright against a wall or fence and slot the utensils into the middle of it. Otherwise, you can attach it to the wall of your shed, fence or home! All you need is a few nails, a hammer and a coat of wood stain. Both methods are quick and easy to recreate.

Plus, if you’re feeling extra creative, you could paint your pallet to match your garden furniture!

  1. Hang up the hose

If there’s one thing we’re always tripping over in the garden, it’s the hose! An easy way to store your hose is by attaching a coat hook to the outside wall of your home and then using a piece of chain to keep the hose looped together and then hung on the wall! Upcycled garden

This is the perfect solution for temporarily storing any larger pieces of furniture, such as outdoor dining tables and chairs and patio heaters, that if left in the garden over the colder months might get damaged by the weather.
