Top Tips for Keeping the Kids Entertained: Stay Home Edition!

With most of the world following social distancing procedures right now, it might feel that we’re all cooped up. However, with so much moving online as a response, the world has never felt so accessible! Masons Self Storage’s Marketing Manager, James and his partner Lucy, have two young children to keep entertained at home, so they have compiled some exciting ideas to share with you all. How have you and your family been keeping busy during the Coronavirus outbreak? If you have anything that you think we should add to our list, let us know on our Facebook page!

Rainbow window displays

Lots of people have been decorating their windows with rainbows and positivity for the NHS and Key Workers that still have to go outside. So, grab the brightest colours you have and create your own window display of positivity! Rhiannon Lewis in Cardiff even went as far to paint a rainbow across their whole house to thank the NHS!

A night out at the theatre?

There are so many plays, musicals and performances that have been released in full online and on channels such as YouTube. Andrew Lloyd Webber has created a YouTube channel: The Show Must Go On, where they will be releasing a musical a week. The Globe Theatre will have an amazing 40 performances available online throughout April – plus a virtual tour of their iconic London landmark is available on their website. The National Theatre have been premiering some of their most popular plays, available for a week at a time. Whilst classics such as The Wind in the Willows, starring Rufus Hound, is available online to watch for the bargain price of £2.99!

Why not get all dressed up, prepare some snacks (we love these ideas from BBC Good Food) and have a theatre trip on the sofa?

We recently spoke to our friends at Penarth View, offering some of our top tips for decluttering. There’s never really been a better time to get organised and get the whole family involved! Go through toys and teddies, have a fashion show of clothes that don’t fit anymore and organise everything to be taken to charity shops when we’re back to normal. Take a look at our top tips for decluttering FAST here. Here at Masons Self Storage, we’re still open (with social distancing & thorough cleaning in place) if you would like to keep things in storage to clear some space at home. Plus, our sister company, Simply Shredding, can send you shredding bags in the post if you’d like to start sorting your unneeded paperwork, so don’t hesitate to contact the team on 01446 700799!
